The Register-Guard (7-day archive) today wrote that Judge Karsten Rasmussen heard arguments Monday on whether EWEB can sell water to Veneta without explicit approval from the Eugene City Council.
Earlier, polling results were posted showing that Eugeneans strongly favored selling water to Veneta.
Okay, now, this is not a legal argument. However, it’s an interesting political argument. The Eugene City Council voted 8-0 to bring this case forward. If Judge Rasmussen rules in the City of Eugene’s favor, how many councilors will vote to stop the deal from going through?
Newly posted polling results show that EWEB’s proposed water sale to Veneta is favored by a wide margin.
